Silverdale Primary Academy are extremely lucky to have a rich history in sport and have enjoyed considerable success.

The Primary Schools Challenge took place on Sunday at Helenswood.
Seven schools (42 players) took part playing each school on a round robin basis.
Boys, girls and mixed doubles matches to 15 points.
Silverdale went through to the semi-finals after finishing 1st in the group stage.
The semi-finals saw St Leonards beat Pebsham 2-1 and Silverdale beat Christchurch 2-1.
Final: Silverdale beat St Leonards 2-1.
On Wednesday 3rd June, a group of 8 children attended the local Quad Kids Athletics competition. They had to all had to compete in five different athletics disciplines: 75 sprint, 600m, Vortex Howler Throw, Long Jump and 50m Shuttle Relay. The team did brilliantly and finished 3rd!
On Thursday 4th June, a group of 8 Year 4 children went to compete in the 'Road to Eastbourne' Tennis competition at Amhurst Tennis Club. All of the children played some great tennis, growing in confident as the day progressed. They finished a fantastic 4th overall!
Also on Thursday 4th June, our girls cricket team to play in a tournament at Crowhurst Park Cricket club. They played three games against other local schools. The girls played some good cricket and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
On Wednesday 20th May, Silverdale Primary Academy took two tag rugby teams to the Hastings and Rother Tag Rugby Festival at St Leonards Academy. Both teams played some brilliant rugby in all of their games. The A team finished an impressive third place! The B team had a tough group, finishing third. They then went on to play the other teams that finished third in the other groups. All of the children and staff really enjoyed themselves!

Silverdale A and B teams competed in the Hastings and Rother finals, playing some exciting games. The A team and the B team played brilliantly, both reaching the Semi Finals. Sadly both teams lost in the Semi Finals and played each other in the 3rd/4th play off. The A team won 2:1, finishing third.
Silverdale took a netball team to Vinehall Prep-School to compete in their annual netball tournament. The girls played brilliantly, averaging 4 goals a game. After 5 exciting games, the girls won 4 and lost 1, finishing 2nd overall. They were lucky enough to win the Spirit of the Game' shield for excellent sportswomanship. The perfect way to finish their netball season. They did a super job representing the school.
A team of 24 children represented Silverdale at the annual Sandown Cross Country. The children raced brilliantly and showed great team spirit, encouraging each other round the course. The team ran away with the trophy, winning the competition!

Silverdale Primary Academy netball teams played Sacred Heart on Thursday. After two thrilling matches both Silverdale teams came away with victories. The A team beat Sacred Heart A 6:4 and the B team beat Sacred Heart B 7:0. Two very good all round team performances from all the girls. We look forward to the return fixture after half term!
