NINJAS RULE - MEET THE REAL SCHOOL LEADERS
School life is led by our seven ninjas. Six are named for our core values that create positive learners: Ambitious, Dynamic, Determined, Resilient, Courageous and Inspirational. And the seventh is our Ultimate Ninja who takes on all these qualities. Daily rewards and weekly assemblies celebrate these attributes.
We are also a local centre of excellence for the Thrive approach. We actively focus on our children’s social and emotional wellbeing, to better understand their classroom behaviour and help them become more self-assured, capable and adaptable learners.
Throughout everything, we value close communication and cooperation with families.
SCHOOL DOESN'T STOP AT THE CLASSROOM DOOR
There are many places around school – inside and out – that give an added breadth to our pupils’ learning: the music hub, the rainforest library, the school swimming pool, the external games’ coaches (oh yes, we hold the Gold School Games Mark), the extensive grounds, and the outside classroom for year-round forest school.
Pupils can develop their social skills on the Pupil Leadership Team and Solution Squad which fundraises to help support the local community.
With the help of our active PTA, we welcome the wider community into our school for events - including the legendary bonfire night firework display. Boom.
INTERESTED CHILDREN MAKE GREAT LEARNERS
Nothing inspires children more than being able to relate their learning to the world around them. So we make sure our curriculum stimulates our pupils’ imaginations and leaves them curious to find out more.
Literature is a cornerstone of this philosophy and we use quality texts to nurture a love of reading.
And when children really stand out, whether academically or in sport or music, we notice, and we give them the chance to fulfil that potential through our targeted ‘gifted and talented’ programme.
