EYFS WB 1st Feb 2021

EYFS WB 1st Feb 2021

Welcome to EYFS ideas for Home Learning

w/b 1st February 2021

Good morning. Wow the start of a new month already. Thank you again for all your emails, it’s a delight to open them and see the children so busy at home.  All the children’s work sent in is being added to their learning journeys, it’s lovely to be able to celebrate their (and your) achievements during these unusual times.

This week the work will be set out in days rather than in subjects. Hopefully this will be easier to navigate your way through, but please remember it’s still a guide and you need to pitch it right for your child.

Please be aware that all the teachers are also teaching class bubbles in school, so they may not be able to respond immediately - but they will get back to you as soon as they can!

Just a reminder the class email addresses are:

First - an introduction to this week's home learning from Miss Patterson:

A learning guide you may wish to follow…

EVERYDAY-We ask you spend 20 minutes on DoodleMaths, Fast Phonics and Reading Eggs?

In addition to the daily plan here are some fun activities you may like to do throughout the week;

·         Can you build your own bridge for the Billy Goats to safely cross? You could use Lego, blocks or junk modeling.

·         Can you use books or the internet and find out some interesting facts about goats. Can you make a goat fact file?

·         You could paint or draw a picture of the troll, can you label your picture? For example, hairy feet!

·         Play ‘What’s the time Mr Troll?’ – Let’s hope it’s not dinner time! J

·         The Billy Goats favourite food was sweet green grass. What is your favourite food? Can you make or draw your favourite plate of food? You could draw around a plate as a template or use a paper plate?

·         Can you draw some troll footprints and label them 1 to 10/20. Can you order the footprints?

·         The goats were all different sizes. Can you list 5 things that are taller than you and 5 things that are shorter?

·         The hooves of the Billy Goats were very noisy on the bridge. I wonder what different noises you can hear around you. Sit quietly and listen, what did you hear? Then try listening outside in your garden or when you go for a walk, what can you hear now? Can you write about the sounds you hear?

·         Try this special Billy Goats inspired recipe https://youtu.be/t3FtnTX3KUk With Big Cook Little Cook.

·         Oh no, the bridge has broken, how will the Billy goats cross now? Can you draw a solution, how can the goats cross the river to the sweet green grass?

Joke of the Week; Why is it so hard to have a good conversation with a goat? Because they are always butting in!

We finish our school day with a story, maybe take some time to enjoy a book or watch a CBeebies bedtime story?

Thank you for trying hard with your learning at home. We are very proud of you.

Remarkable Rabbits, Super Squirrels and Happy Hedgehogs – you are all amazing!
