Here's Mrs O'Callaghan with an introduction to this week's home learning:
Daily learning guide
Learning times are only a guide, you might choose to approach each task at a different time.
9.00: Maths - Tackle the next Maths lesson in the Oak National page focusing on ‘fractions’.
9.45: Take time to complete some work on Doodle Maths/ Doodle Tables.
10.15: Phonics time! Access the next phonics video and then try to write some of the words with today’s grapheme in.
10.45: Take a break. Grab a drink and a snack ready for your English lesson
11.00: English undertake the lesson each day, which will continue to focus on story writing.
Don’t forget the Year group assembly at 11:25am on two days this week! Your parent should have got a message about this with a link for you to use. (you will probably need to start your English beforehand, then finish it after the assembly)
12.00: Time to log on and complete some work on Spelling Shed
12.15: Lunch time.
13.15: In the afternoon we focus on our Foundation subjects. This week, we will be focusing on PSHE and learning about feelings. Each day’s link will take you to the next lesson in the series.
Each day, take part in this exercise session with Joe Wicks! Can you continue it each day throughout lockdown to get yourself superfit?

14.30: Nearly the end of the day. Take time to read your school reading book, or a book from home to an adult or a sibling. Discuss what you have read and test each other on tricky spellings! Can you get more right than your partner?
In addition to the lessons and activities prepared by your teachers, all children have unlimited access to a number of learning apps. In Year 1 these apps are:
Spelling Shed - access via play.edshed.com (remember for this one you use the same username as the others, but the password is different, it is: ninjas )
You should have logins for all three of these sites, and you will be used to using them at school. Try to use them daily to help improve your Maths, reading and Spelling skills. They are all free to use and work on pretty much any online device - including many mobile phones.
If you have any problems logging on, please either contact your class teacher via the class email address or contact Silverdale tech support at: email@example.com
