Year 1 Home learning WB 8th February 2021

You can use this email to send work to your teacher, ask for advice or just tell them about the wonderful learning you are doing at home!
Please remember that all the teachers are also teaching class bubbles in school, so they may not be able to respond immediately - but they will get back to you!

Daily learning guide
Learning times are only a guide, you might choose to approach each task at a different time.
9.00: Maths - Tackle the next Maths lesson in the Oak National page focusing on ‘length’.
9.45: Take time to complete some work on Doodle Maths/ Doodle Tables.
10.15: Phonics time! Access the next phonics video and then try to write some of the words with today’s grapheme in. This week we will be focusing on alternative pronunciation of graphemes and going through all of the graphemes learnt so far.
10.45: Take a break. Grab a drink and a snack ready for your English lesson
11.00: English undertake the lesson each day, which will continue to focus on the characters in story writing. This week it is around the story, ‘The Unlucky Man’.

12.00: Time to log on and complete some work on Spelling Shed

13.15: In the afternoon we focus on our Foundation subjects.

The following powerpoint will explain a bit more about the holy book of the Jewish people, The Torah. It will show some Hebrew letters. Can you make your own Torah? Can you write your name in the Hebrew alphabet? Can you write a sentence? Here is a presentation to help you: Presentation and a Hebrew letter mat too: Letter mat.
Wednesday: Art Listen to some music and paint what you can hear. Free your mind. What colour does the music sound like? What shape is the music making? When you have finished, label your artwork with the title of the music you listened to whilst creating it!
Thursday: PE Carry out some Space-themed yoga, with the Cosmic Yoga team! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9W8iV4AJYQ
Friday: DT Design a space menu that Space Tortoise and his friends can choose from. Can you make any of the dishes on the menu with an adult? Take photographs and send them in!
Each day, take part in this exercise session with Joe Wicks! Can you continue it each day throughout lockdown to get yourself superfit?

14.30: Nearly the end of the day. Take time to read your school reading book, or a book from home to an adult or a sibling. Discuss what you have read and test each other on tricky spellings! Can you get more right than your partner?

You should have logins for all three of these sites, and you will be used to using them at school. Try to use them daily to help improve your Maths, reading and Spelling skills. They are all free to use and work on pretty much any online device - including many mobile phones.
