Curriculum contingency plan
At Silverdale Primary Academy, our primary aim is the safety and well-being of our staff and pupils. We recognise that a school closure (full or partial) will impact differently on all of us and we acknowledge that children and families will face a variety of situations and challenges. With this in mind we take all steps possible to keep school open, but have robust contingency plans should school ever need to close.
We would ask all parents and carers to take the time to familiarise themselves with the information below so that our whole community can support our pupils and ensure minimal disruption to their learning if we should be forced to close for any reason.
Teaching & Learning:
Our aim is to keep our core purpose of teaching and learning continuing as effectively as possible.
If your child has to isolate at home due to a suspected covid case within the household or academy we have provided below a range of topic based activities to ensure that they are able to continue to learn whilst at home.
Year Group Medleys
In conjunction with this we would like to direct you to the Oak National Academy. On this site you will be able to access both English and Maths lessons to ensure that your child continues to learn. Be sure to check out our individual year groups termly plans to check what the children would be learning in school.
Be sure to share your child’s work by sending in photos of the work to email@example.com, (in the subject box please write your child’s name and class to ensure these are sent on quickly and accurately) these will be forwarded on to your child’s class teacher.
Be sure to check the Academy Instagram page where we will share good work.
We also direct you towards the range of online apps/ websites which the children have logins for;
And of course take this opportunity to read with and encourage your child to read as much and as often as possible both independently and with yourselves.
